First of all I just want to forward you my BEST WISHES for this
year 2010. All the best to you and the ones you love. I am amazed
that it's already been 10 years since year 2000.
I don't know about you but I thought about my life around past New
Year's Eves. Most of the time I saw aspects of my life I did not
like and made New Year's resolutions in the hopes of getting a
more fulfilling life each year. I then returned to my day-to-day
life and forgot about it until my birthday or the next New Year's
Eve.
Over the years, this little mind game has lead to anxiety and a feeling
of powerlessness over my life around my birthdays and the New Year.
You may be in a similar situation today. That's why I want to share
with you something that has helped me get closer to the life I want.
This simple knowledge is very powerful. I discovered it
while trying to get fabulous looking abs. It is the power of taking
baby steps very consistently. Consistently is a very important word
here. This method can work for anything from learning a new language,
changing your diet, improving your relationship skills, learning to
control stress, anything your heart desires.
Let's say you have always wanted to learn the piano. You can start
by practicing five minutes a day. Whatever you decide, it should be
a very easy commitment to follow. However, once you have made that
commitment you must stick to it. You will be amazed how much easier
it is to increase your daily practice from 5 minutes to 10 minutes a
day and then from 10 minutes to 20 minutes a day compared to starting
at 20 minutes a day right away.
Also, you should never increase your daily practice time to 20 minutes
unless you have decided to practice for 20 minutes EVERY DAY from that
moment on. Otherwise, the next day, you may feel that as you have
already done twice the amount of time the day before you
do not need to practice that day. You will then loose the most
important factor to your success i.e.; consistency.
What I have explained above also applies to changing your diet.
For example, if you are addicted to soda drinks, choose to drink one
less soda can per day for 3 weeks and then one less..., not to stop
drinking soda altogether at once.
If you have one or two New Year resolutions that you want to keep
this time, please use the power of consistent baby steps for at
least three months and you will be surprised by the result. If you
have more than one or two, just choose two and then move on to the
next. What you will get is a sense that you can get what you want
in life and that is a wonderful feeling.
Kind regards,
Nathalie Foy

managing stress, and preventing herpes ;-)
P.P.S.>: If you do want to learn the piano, I have found the most
fabulous method on the market. I have used it and I have made great
progress within a week. I highly recommend it. If you want to be
successful in your piano practice at last and learn from home, this
method is just it.
